Komunika: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi is the scientific journal with aims and scope on communication theory, mass communication, Islamic communication, da'wa with all its aspects (among athers da'wa management, da'wa message, da'wa media, da'wa method, da'wa institution, etc.), Islamic broadcasting, Islamic journalism, and public relation. Komunika: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi published by Fakultas Dakwah Institut Agama Islam Negeri Purwokerto with ISSN 1978-1261 (print). 

Komunika: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi first published online with ISSN (online) 2548-9496 starting volume 11 in 2017. Komunika: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi indeed by DOAJ since July 31, 2017 with green tick.

2016

  • Editorial board reshuffled.
  • All earlier edition is available online.
  • ISSN (online) 2548-9496 obtained on 2 November 2016
  • Template for author 1st edition.

2017

  • Change the name of the journal back to the initial name as registered in the ISSN, namely KOMUNIKA: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi.
  • Obtain DOI prefix: 10.24090 with suffix: 10.24090/kom.
  • In 2017 it was still difficult to find manuscripts, so there were articles submitted by authors through OJS. But most are still based on email. The review process is the same.
  • Template version 2 implemented.
  • APA references style adopted.
  • Mendeley reference tool apply.
  • indexed by DOAJ.
  • Changes in writing the title of the article from ALL CAPITAL to Capitalize Each Word.
  • Implementation of OJS-based article management.
  • Some of the reviewers are from several other universities and the review administration is based on OJS.

2018

  • February: Indexed in ROAD, CiteULike, Index Copernicus, Scilit.
  • March: Migrate from OJS 2.4.8 to 3.0.2 version
  • June: PlagiarismCheckerX adopted
  • August: Accerdited in Sinta 3
  • November: iThenticate Similarity Check implemented. Every article that goes into Komunika is done by checking similarity to guarantee the authenticity of the article.
  • December: New Template article for 2019 edition uploaded can download here. There have been many changes to the appearance of the article starting in the 2019 edition. Some changes include the existence of information articles submitted by the author, revisions, accepted, and published. writing articles by the author becomes easier to use various styles using new standards. 2021

  • January: Editorial Board Amendment, Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Basit, M.Ag. as Editor in Chief.
  • January: All published articles in English.
  • February: Changed the similarity check provider from iThenticate to Turnitin.
  • Template for author version 2021 implemented.

2022

  • January: Minor revision of article template. The new template does not include a mailing email address. Instead, the authors are required to include their respective email addresses.
  • June: In 2023, there are two changes. The first is a change in focus and scope, and the second is a change to the article published in number 1, which is an article on the topic of da'wah, and number 2 is an article on communication.

2023

  • January: The author name in the article license statement changes to simply "the authors"
  • January: The author fee applied 750.000 IDR or 50 USD.
  • April: The article license appears on the first page of each article.
  • September: Accredited and indexed by Sinta 2 from September 25, 2023, volume 17 No. 1, 2023 to volume 21 No. 2, 2027
