Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of schools and communities in developingeducation in the era of globalization. This research uses a library study method withdescriptive analysis techniques. With this method, researchers look for the requireddocuments that are appropriate to the topic of discussion, then analyze them, processthem and draw conclusions. The results of the research show that schools have avery important role in developing education in the era of globalization, namely: 1) aplace to gain knowledge and technology, 2) a place to shape students' character, 3)a place to internalize religious values, 4) complement education that is not carriedout in family and society. The role of society in developing education is: 1) users ofeducational services; 2) contribute in providing financial assistance, services andpersonnel; 3) play a passive role as obedient policy recipients;; 4) consulting role; 5)service role; 6) role as implementer of activities; 7). As a decision maker.
