The current of globalization has a very significant influence, especially negative influences on humans. Spiritual values are further away from humans, even in the present era hedonic lifestyles are more visible than living with good character. Behaviors that are far from spiritual values cause moral decadence among students. Family and society as school partners in building moral civilization are paralyzed by the rapid development of modern technology. The characteristics of modern society appear in the loosening of moral values in society and the tendency of people to be oriented towards science and technology. The rapid progress in the field of matter resulted in the emergence of spiritual paralysis. People who achieve success with their technological devices do not approach life happiness, on the contrary, humans are trapped in the web of scientific rationality. The movement of modernity has failed, because it lacks attention to the spiritual and metaphysical dimensions. Spirituality is the strength of the heart that motivates people to the truth and makes care for the conditions of others. Islamic education has a big role to equip students to maintain spirituality and restore human beings in accordance with the potential of nature that God gave from birth so that noble morals are realized and become human characters in all lines of life. To deal with technological advances in the era of globalization, spirituality education is needed, so that spiritual values can answer the challenges of the future.Downloads
