Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Background (1–2 paragraphs): Provide a concise overview of the environmental issue or scientific challenge. Include relevant data, historical context, or global trends.

 

Literature Review (1–2 paragraphs): Summarize key studies, highlight gaps in the existing research, and cite only the most relevant, recent (preferably last 5-10 years), and reputable sources.

 

Problem Statement (1 paragraph): Identify a clear research gap or practical challenge.

 

Objectives (bulleted or paragraph): Explicitly state the objectives or research questions.

 

Significance (1 paragraph): Emphasize how the study contributes to knowledge, policy, or environmental practice.

Detailed Guidelines:

  • Research Design: Describe the methodological approach and its justification.
  • Study Area: Include a map or diagram (Figure 1) with scale and legend.
  • Data Collection:
    • Sampling method and sample size
    • Instruments/tools used
    • Duration and period of data collection
  • Data Analysis: Clearly explain the techniques used (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, regression models).

  • Presentation of Results:
    • Use subheadings to organize themes.
    • Present data in tables and figures before discussing them.
    • All figures and tables must be cited in the text (e.g., "As shown in Table 2…").
  • Figure Formatting:

    • Include scale bars, legends, and units where appropriate
  • Table Formatting:
    • Numbered sequentially

    • Explain any unexpected findings

  • Novelty: Explain how the findings contribute to new knowledge or practice.

  • Minimum of 20 references; at least 70% from the last 10 years.
  • At least 30% from Scopus-indexed or peer-reviewed international journals.
  • Use consistent citation style.
  • Use reference manager software for consistency and accuracy.
